| The usage of the EDI 820 segment set is becoming more popular. While part of the increase is due to outsourcing Accounts Payable to the banks, many companies are installing or upgrading A/P software which makes EDI payments and remittances a normal process. The advantage of the 820 transaction set is that deductions can be created on the correct account, with the correct adjustment code and comments, with no clerical effort.
C/LECT Cash Preprocessor (CCP) EDI/EFT processing currently handles five billion dollars of 820 transactions yearly. The CCP has the following processes in our 20 plus installations: |
EDI Reception and Translation |
Handle data from any EDI Translator in either its own format or mapped to our specs
A C/LECT EDI Translator program for Home Depot Remittances
An EDI Warehouse to match 820 remits to paper checks or separate EFT payments

Account and Item Matching for Payments and Adjustments
Apply items based on the trading partner or remittance name

Specialized Home Depot Processing handling excess gross amounts
Conversion of the EDI codes to the A/R adjustment codes
Adjustment overrides by customer, region or business group

This will eliminate all bank keying charges (if you route the A.D. remits to your lockbox) and apply the items automatically through batch instead of manually closing the items.
